You can visit a number of museums and historic homes in the village of Wiscasset, Maine, including the Lincoln County Museum and Old Jail and the Lincoln County Courthouse, which is the oldest functioning courthouse in New England. You can see examples of 19th-century Federal-style mansions at Castle Tucker and the Nickels-Sortwell House.

At the Maine Crafter's Marketplace at the Maine Heritage Village, off Route 1, you can shop for Maine-made goodies such as whoopie pies, soaps and candles. You and your family can take on the three-level ropes course and adventure park at Monkey C Monkey Do
