Take a stroll to one of Midcoast Maine’s most popular lighthouses...Owls Head Light, where from its lofty perch, the beauty of Penobscot Bay sparkles before you!

Visit the 1854 Keeper’s Quarter’s Museum, which features exhibits on Owls Head Light, the Coast Guard’s modern lighthouse keeping role. Enjoy a climb up the lighthouse on Sat. & Sun. 10-4 & Mon. & Wed. 1-4. Stop in the Gift Shop where you will find unique lighthouse and nautical gifts,books, clothing & more!

Owls Head Light is now home to the American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF), a nonprofit organization caring for 17 historic lighthouse sites, 9 in Maine, you can also learn about staying in a lighthouse while you are here! Mailing address is: P.O. Box 565, Rockland, ME 04841

Other ALF lighthouses open to the public in Maine include: Wood Island, Pemaquid Point, Owls Head, Rockland Breakwater and Little River.

How to get there...Owls Head Lighthouse is located at 186 Lighthouse Road in Owls Head. Simply follow the signs for Owls Head Light State Park and once you arrive at the parking lot, you will walk about 1/10 of a mile to the lighthouse grounds.
