It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and for one special day the museum will be transformed into a winter wonderland where seasonal activities abound! From meeting Santa in his North Pole workshop to cookie decorating, there’s something for the whole family during this festive, FREE event!
The Owls Head Transportation Museum (OHTM) staff and volunteers have planned a day full of holiday fun with demonstrations, programs, and crafts.
Children can explore the museum using a special “Passport”: collect a stamp at each station and receive a prize. Santa has made arrangements to be on site at OHTM from 10:00 am to 1 pm, so children will have plenty of time to meet this icon and share a moment with him. There will also be a letter writing station, where children can write their holiday wish lists and deposit them for North Pole delivery.
Peruse the exhibits as holiday music drifts through the halls. Keep an eye out for crafting tables and demonstrations of some of the museums’ largest artifacts! Pose for a festive photo-op or enjoy a holiday story with Mrs. Claus! PLUS there will be a “STEM Education Center” on site, featuring interactive learning toys and make-and-take crafts! For the adults in the family, be sure to don your favorite “ugly sweater.” And don’t miss the 25% discount in the museum store, membership specials, and more!
Although the festivities end at 1pm, the museum will remain open until 4pm, allowing plenty of time to see anything you might have missed! So, mark your calendars, tell your friends, and we look forward to seeing you Dec. 4 for OHTM’s Holidays at the Museum!
