SUMMARY:Thompson Ice House Ice Harvest
DESCRIPTION:Join in harvesting ice from Thompson Pond! Enjoy watching Kenny Lincoln\, Thompson Ice House President\, make the first cut as he saws through the ice using original tools and equipment. Once a channel is clear to float the ice along\, the fun begins; poking\, prodding and floating large ice blocks toward the old ice house\, where they enter the building to brave souls who stack the ice safely inside\, just as it has been done for 200 years. All ages enjoy sawing through the ice\, or prodding blocks along to the conveyor. \nAdd to the fun some grilled hot dogs\, hot chocolate\, coffee\, soup\, chili\, and baked goods\, and it is a day to look forward to each year. Hundreds of people save the date to participate in a little history and preserving a Maine tradition.

SUMMARY:State of Maine 2026 Ice Carving Championship
DESCRIPTION:For three days\, downtown Belfast will be filled with stunning ice sculptures and ice bars created by both amateur and professional ice carvers. Enjoy a drink at one of the ice bars and watch as hand tool carvers\, followed by chainsaw carvers\, craft artistic sculptures for the fifth annual State of Maine Ice Carving Championship. All ice carvings are judged by a panel of guest judges\, with cash prizes awarded to the winners. The festival begins on Friday evening with the Frost & Flannel Ice Ball at the Belfast Boat House. Dress in your favorite flannel or go all out with a ball gown and tiara.
