The Brooks Historical Society was organized in October 2003. The Society is dedicated to the preservation and understanding of the town's heritage and will promote the study, appreciation and interpretation of local history. Our nonprofit organization is funded by memberships and donations. Gifts to the Society are deductible for Federal and State income, estate and gift tax purposes. Contributions are greatly appreciated and are used for the purposes of furthering the mission of the Society. The Society accepts donations of papers and artifacts relating to Brooks and its people. Nearly all of its acquisitions are donated. The Brooks Historical Society is a member of the Maine Association of Museums (MAM).
