MECOA represents almost 180 of the 275 plus campgrounds in the state of Maine. MECOA acts as an advocate at the Legislatures in Augusta and Washington DC, provides educational seminars and workshops, and provides member benefits. MECOA plans marketing campaigns for member campgrounds through the 160,000 piece publication "Maine Camping Guide", "CampMaine.com Website", advertising links on other websites, in state maps and at welcome centers, as well as managing a brochure distribution program at RV shows throughout New England. Most recently, MECOA has produced its own "Vacationland RV and Camping Show." This is hosted at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn Maine in April. "CAMPING IS OUR MAINE CONCERN"
