Maine's Midcoast Summer Adventure

Last month I packed up my car and drove to Bath to begin a two day trip along the coast. Jenna at Maine's MidCoast & Islands connected me with talented travel writer Noah Lederman, who came up from Long Island with his family to explore and experience this amazing part of Maine. I tagged along and documented their adventure. I met up with Jenna at Bath’s Natural Market to pack a little picnic basket for their arrival. Then we were off to Maine Maritime Museum for a lighthouse boat tour! The kids loved riding in the front of the boat, eating blueberries and seeing seals sun bathing on the rocks. It was the perfect first day of their trip!

Next stop was Bath Brewing Company! We were all hungry and excited to drink some Maine beer.

I said goodbye for the night and stayed at the Wiscasset Woods Lodge. This place was cozy and had a delicious breakfast!

I drove to Georgetown to meet up with the family the next morning. I lived in Georgetown for a winter a few years ago and was very happy to be back. Their cottage, the Gull’s Nest, was beautiful, filled with antique Maine decor and overlooked the water. Noah mentioned that you can have fresh lobsters delivered to the dock!

With a full day of midcoast adventures planned, we went to the Georgetown General Store to stock up on snacks. Our next stop was Five Islands Lobster for lunch. It was my first lobster roll of the season and it didn’t disappoint! Noah and Marissa loved how fresh they were! We sat on the water and watched the lobstermen deliver their catches.

We drove up the coast to Damariscotta to hop the River Tripper for an oyster tour. We ate oysters and were able to see the different farms along the coast.

We finished off the evening walking around Darimiscotta, eating dinner at the Montsweg Farm and enjoying ice cream at Round Top Ice Cream.

Thank you Maine's MidCoast & Islands, Noah, Marissa and the girls for an amazing trip! It was so much fun to see the girls learn and explore Maine. It made me feel like a kid again!
